Lucas Sparrow
Lucas Sparrow is an American composer of contemporary art music residing in South Carolina. He is currently finishing a Bachelor of Music in Composition degree at Bob Jones University where he studies with Dr. Seth Custer. After Graduating, Lucas plans to continue his studies in graduate school.
Lucas’s compositions are broad in style and instrumentation, frequently sounding fully distinct from one another, although with the same voice behind each of them. Lucas has written pieces for Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Brass Quintet, SATB Quartet, String Quartet, and various duos, among other ensembles.
Upcoming premiers include 3 pieces to be premiered on his senior recital, including a piece for a 20 player wind ensemble entitled Prelude to a Woe, a piece for Tenor and Piano Quintet entitled Do Not Be Afraid, Abraham, and a Sonata-Allegro for Euphonium and Piano.
